Developing a Closure Practice for Actors

.Why did Chloe Zhao have dance breaks on the set of Hamnet? Why does intimacy coordinator Lizzy Talbot bring yoga mats and stress balls to the set of Bridgerton? Why does Tony-nominated Nichelle Lewis stress the importance of self-care after shows? Because closure practices are essential for actors.

We spend so much time focusing on how to get into character, but how do we get out of it?

In this hour long workshop, we will talk about why your body holds onto certain scenes and characters, explore what happens in our bodies when we step into certain roles, and create an individualized toolbox for how to step out of character.

This trauma-informed, somatic practice is designed to empower actors with the tools to let go of the work and create structures for a better work-life balance.
